I am a member of Ancestry.com with a family tree which I will share with other family relatives in order to make connections easier. My Phillips family is rooted in Surry County, North Carolina. Lt. William Venable (Revolutionary War) 1740-1825, was my 4th great grandfather.

My mother, Edna Monnie Venable Phillips, was also from Surry County. The Venables are originally from Venables, France, about a one hour drive NW of Paris, France. I had the fortune to visit the small village in 2019, and was given a full tour of the church and community. The Venable family tree goes back to Gilbert de Venables, 1066.

I currently live in Wake County, NC, with my wife, Janice Maxwell Phillips. The Maxwell family is deep-rooted in Whiteville, NC.
