As an amateur family historian, I research my own family, but I am also interested in helping others discover things about their past and the history of places around them. Please drop me a note if you find one of my memorials helpful to your research.
If you're transcribing from my geotagged photos, please include not only the name and date of birth & death, but also the inscription.
My current project is to transcribe the full text of burial marker inscriptions where photos exist on findagrave.com for cemeteries I am interested in. In my transcriptions I retain the case, punctuation, spelling, and line spacing, including notes about any emblems on the headstone.
I love inscriptions that express eternal hope, as Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
My photographic approach is to attach at least two photos per memorial: one of the entire feature in good light with a slight margin around; one with an overview depicting the location of the memorial within the site.
Feel free to save photos I have posted for your personal use, citing my handle as the source: Heinz.57 ID#50175324.
