Find a Grave ID

Pertaining to Elizabeth Shaw Wardlow: I spent my childhood moving about our great country as an "Army brat", never staying anywhere long enough to put down roots or make lasting friendships. I never made strong bonds with my family either. Most of my elders have passed on along with my opportunity to learn their stories which I am so interested in at this time of my life. I have found family history a fascinating subject! I am keen to learn everything I can about my ancestors. I am also attempting to unravel my spouse's family history... his father is a mystery... we are using DNA to try to find the missing pieces in his puzzle.

To get my feet wet, I explore my local cemeteries in Upshur County, Texas and Gregg County, Texas. I don't have kinfolk in these cemeteries, but I would like to help others, learning as I do. Find-A-Grave (FAG) has been a fantastic resource and I am encouraged by so much help out there. Every day reveals a new gem.

I have chosen to begin in the local cemeteries, learning what information on tombstones to gather and how to take photos for Find-A-Grave (FAG) memorials as I pursue my goal to be a "Family Historian". I discovered that the memorial is much more than a record of burial and
photographs. Valuable familial information can be found on the tombstone and on other tombstones of the family group found in the same cemetery. Find-A-Grave (FAG) memorials provide the feature to link family member memorials, then providing so much of the essential information needed to build a family tree, being a spectacular research vehicle and allows the rest of the family to view, appreciate and utilize information for their benefit.

PERTAINING TO DAVID ALLEN WARDLOW SR AND ELIZABETH SHAW WARDLOW: During visits to the cemeteries, we take as many photos as possible to post to existing memorials or add new memorials. You are welcome to use the photos we have posted on any Find-A-Grave (FAG) memorial (see Release of Copyright of Photographs hereinbelow).

If you find that a modification or correction should be made to a memorial that we have created or maintain, please notify via the "edit" function or "suggest a correction" tab. Kindly leave your contact information along with your suggestion. If you request a transfer of a memorial of your family member or friend, please also use the edit tab.

Happy Trails! Good luck in your searches!
