I am a true Michigander, born (several years ago) at Pontiac General Hospital, married (a few decades ago) in Wayne County and have been living in a suburb of Detroit for the past 20+ years!

The "Erfourth" branch of my family began in Germany. My 2nd Great grandfather, Ernest Erfourth (Ernst Heinrich Herfordt)? married Louisa Boehning in New York in 1873. Luisa and her father Frederick (Boehning) had arrived in New York in 1872 on the ship "Europa". The Erfurth family, along with Frederick, eventually moved to Michigan and up to Emmet & Charlevoix counties. My great grandfather William moved his family 'down state' to Oxford around 1937.

Grandma Bradford's branch of the family tree is from England, & Scotland.
In 1638 my 9th great grandfather, Joseph Parker, boarded the ship "Confidence" in Newbury, Berkshire, England and headed for New England (NY).
My Parker family was in Salem, MA during the witch trials, I even have a falsely accused (and hung) witch in the family tree, Mary (Ayer) Parker!

My Scottish 4th Great grandfather, John Bradford and his family departed from Liverpool, England on the ship "Scotland" and arrived in New York in 1842.

Grandma (Bradford) & grandpa (Erfourth) married in Oxford, Michigan, moved to Pontiac and my history was born!

The "VanBuren/Merrill" side of my family has been in Michigan for many, many years after coming "up" from Virginia & West Virginia.
