After retirement as an educator, I have begun research into my family genealogy. I am learning a lot as I go from many people, but would like to say a special thank you to my cousin Shirley Ann Carter Bennett Barham. We have never met in person, but connected through the use of Find A Grave. She has shared SO much information and records that I may have never found on my own.
As I continue to work on my ancestry and make more connections, I look forward to "meeting" more and more cousins. There are so many stories and anecdotal records to be found!
I am in the process of contacting all the wonderful memorial Creators who have posted the gravesites of my relatives on Find A Grave in order to request transfers of those memorials to me. Hopefully, after my time passes, family members can continue to connect the dots and tell the story, filling in the blanks as we go forward.
