Bio
I first began visiting the Find A Grave website as a non-member, simply for additional information towards my own Ancestry family tree, (and to view the uploaded photos of gravestones).
Upon noticing that many of my ancestors memorials had not yet been entered into Find A Grave, (and many who had memorials entered, didn't have gravestone photos), I became a member, and began visiting cemeteries to photograph gravestones primarily for my own Ancestry family tree, and to create the missing Find A Grave memorials, while also uploading any missing gravestone photos of my ancestors to Find A Grave.
Then one day the thought came to mind, that since I was already in a cemetery, why not become a photo volunteer for Find A Grave, and fulfill some photo requests to help others with their family trees.
Over time, the thrill of the hunt to find and photograph gravestones to fulfill the photo requests for others, became more fun and rewarding to me, than finding gravestones to photograph for my own family tree!!!
Visiting cemeteries and photographing gravestones, has become my #1 hobby passion during the months of late April through late November, and also any day in between when Mother Nature permits it. (The cold winter and snow, makes for difficult visits).
My long term goal is to reduce and keep the photo request count of the cemeteries within my local area to the minimum, (and in some cemeteries, attempt to get the percentage of photos taken to 100%).
Feel free to use any of my photos that I have uploaded for your own personal use, (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF USING MY PHOTOS FOR "NON-DECEASED" PERSONS), or as permitted within any of the "Ancestry owned websites" such as Find A Grave is. Please read the guidelines and recommendations about photo usage in ancestry.com and findagrave.com (or any other website that you may be using), to ensure you are following their website rules.
As for me, "if it's Ok with the website, it's Ok with me". (After all, I photograph these gravestones for you). Please follow the website rules.
If you happen to see a Find A Grave memorial that I have created, and the memorial is of one of your ancestors, (but not one of my own ancestors), and you'd like to manage it, simply communicate with me through a message or email, and I will be happy to transfer the memorial to you. (During this communication process, we may discover that we are related)!!
