When I am able, I track down family of the memorials and piece them together. I will add any related documentation (death/birth certificates, veteran burial cards) etc. I think it's incredibly helpful for those who come across families memorials, to be able to have this information when they otherwise wouldn't have access to it elsewhere. This documentation also helps confirm family relationships and maiden names.

*If I see dates of birth or death on the death certificate different from those on the headstone, I will make a notation in the biography section of the memorial, but will use the year provided on the documentation for the memorial. Most times this is more accurate for those who are searching (via ancestry etc)
