Omnium Rerum Principia Parva Sunt

My mother would line up old photos of our family on the table abt 1954 - to show me who/where we came from. I was about nine years old. I will never forget that. Most of those photo's and old tin types got away over time, but I remember my mothers interest and eventually gave me the drive to keep looking...

I've collected a few old books and documents, If their signed I try to add them to the gravestones of the people that owned and signed them.

I thought it would be interesting for anyone searching these folks to see something they actually had in their hands at one time. As I like to see something my own relatives or ancestors had.

Growing up in York Pennsylvania - Continental Congress 1777, Gettysburg about 40 miles away. I learned very early about our American History. Married in Old St Augustine Florida. St. Augustine was founded on September 8, 1565. It is the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement in the United States. Now living in Washington Co Pa. French and Indian War 1753, Whiskey Rebellion 1794 and that history......
I guess I have always been interested in History - so looking for the history of our families just sort of fit in.

So now I admit I am sometimes a photographer, sometimes an amateur historian...
