In whose hand is the soul of every living thing (Job 12:10)

Cherish every moment with your furbaby/babies. I cherish:
How Centauri would greet me when I came home from work. He would bang up against my leg and chat excitedly. He would then playfully bite my arm and look into my eyes and say: "I love you."
I cherish just looking at him reclined majestically in his perch as he gracefully purviewed the scenery before drifting into tranquil midday slumber.
I cherish my friend, who taught me about life, my friend who was only good, who loved comradeship and company.
I miss you, my friend, how you would crouch under the kitchen table and pounce on my leg as I walked by.
I miss you talking to me, my friend. Your vocabulary continued to astound all the human members of your family.
I miss you, my friend. I am going home tonight, and for the first time in years you will not be there to say hi, and I will look in vain for your yellow eyes and majestic black hair. Every room in the house cries: "Where is Centauri?" Days of crying have now gone by without you. The stairs creak: Is that you ambling downstairs to hang out with me in the living room? I feel your presence on your favorite perch by the window: If I don't look, are you sitting there still? Your favorite scratch pad in the kitchen lies dormant: Will you scratch it again like you always did with such energy? I replenish your water bowl daily hoping you'll take at least one more drink. Every night you are in my dreams, running around happily and chirping as is your wont, but I wake to darkness. Your absence leaves a gaping wound in our hearts. I hope you are in a better place. I hope to see you and your furry brother Alpha again one day. Please don't forget your human friends. We all loved you very, very much. This world is much darker without your light. Every day with you was an exquisite privilege. Every memory of you is a sparkling diamond.

And in death they were not divided
Your soul is bound in the eternal Bond of Life
