Bio

In 2009, my husband and I moved from Bethesda, Maryland and retired to Amherst, Massachusetts. In 2016, I was surprised to discover that my family roots go back in Amherst to the 1700's. My 4X great grandmother, (#13979444) Mary Hubbard Matthews Dickinson (widow of Aaron Matthews, 3rd wife of Jonathan Dickinson), is buried in Amherst's historic West Cemetery and is the link between the Massachusetts and Ohio branches of our family. Her son, Phineas Matthews, was one of the founders of the Ohio town, Cheshire, in Gallia County where the Ohio branch of the Matthews family settled and where I grew up.
