Chad Morrison was born in Cambridge, NY and raised in Greenwich, NY. He is the son of William James and Donna Lee (Thomas) Morrison. Jimmy is buried in the North Cambridge United Methodist (Stump) Church Cemetery. Donna is on the Cemetery Association.

His maternal grandparents were Oscar Lee and Gladys (Geelan) Thomas. The Thomas family (Peter Hill) was one of the original members of the congregation of Stump Church. At the time that she passed in 2012, Gladys was the oldest member of the Stump Church.
