I come from a long family tradition of military service, with ancestors who served in the Colonial Wars, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Black Hawk War, War Between the States, WWI, WWII, Korean War, and the Cold War. Following in their footsteps, I completed 7 years of training as an Army Cadet in both the JROTC and senior ROTC programs.

I started my active military service in the Army Infantry, and served 29 plus years. I continue to serve as a volunteer in local Veteran Organizations and in support of the Hawaii State Dept of Defense efforts to conduct Memorials and Commemorations of our Veterans and military history.
