<---- CLICK ON THIS THUMBNAIL PHOTO for a better view the Army caisson and horse team used for military burials and interments at Arlington National Cemetery.

I live in the immediate vicinity of Arlington National Cemetery. Almost all of my photo volunteer efforts are limited to this cemetery.

PHOTOGRAPHS: I normally include a photo of the cemetery section marker where the grave is located and photos of both the front and reverse faces of the grave marker. When the grave is marked with the standard issue marble grave marker the reverse face almost always includes the grave's identification number as well as any spouses or children intern in the grave plot. Within a single plot there can be more than one spouse interned, one or more children, or a spouse and a child. Typically there are no more than three interments in one plot at Arlington National Cemetery. The John F. Kennedy grave site is a special exception. Frequently I will combine up to four photographs into one frame. In the caption I will include the photo date. Doing this enables the viewer to get a more complete view, feeling, setting, and season of the grave site. By combining multiple photos into one frame it makes available unused frames for addition photos. Individual photographs combined within a single frame or one photo in a single frame, are scaled down to satisfy the file size limitations of this website. If you would like a single photograph in its original size (typically 8 mb) please contact me with your email address.

USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS: I give my expressed permission to use my photographs providing photo credit is cited to: ©Robert Dogan on
