If putting in a photo request, please try to contact the funeral home or cemetery to see if you can get a burial location for the person. That can be a big help to anyone searching for the grave.

When creating a memorial, please do not post a photo of the person's marker if the date of death has not been added to the marker. Doing so means the memorial will not show up on the list of memorials with no marker photo added. Some use that list to know which markers to search for.

Please do not create a memorial for someone just because their spouse recently passed away. That can lead to duplicate memorials being created when the person does pass away.

Please insure photos of the person are added as 'Person,' not as 'Grave.' That will keep them above any photo added as 'Grave.' Add group photos as 'Family.'

I was born in Decatur, Illinois and lived in the area until I joined the Air Force in June 1965, I retired from the Air Force in September 1988 as a Senior Master Sergeant in Las Vegas, Nevada. We relocated to Eastern New Mexico in 2006 to be closer to our older daughter and two older grandsons.

My wife and I became interested in tracing our families in June of 2015 while attending a reunion for her mother's family.

So far most of my time has been spent using Family Search, Find A Grave, and newspapers.com to find information on our relatives and using that information to link relatives to each other.

Names I am researching for my families are: McAnelly, Dobbs, Willis, Williams, and Agney.

For my wife's families, we are researching: Clark (her mother and father were both Clarks), Vaughn, and Hertel.

Most of our ancestors were in central Illinois, but also Kentucky, Kansas, and Montana, among other places.
