Fairview Historian: 2003-Current
I am trying to add the exact burial locations to all who are buried in Historic Fairview Cemetery and Fairview Memorial Park. I have transferred most of my entries to another contributor so I can continue working through the records posting burial locations with minimal edits. I have a data base for the historic side burials, both alphabetically as well as per sections. This will be donated to the proper entities when I am through with this project. If my flower is on an entry - I have doubled checked it against the cemetery records and to the best of my knowledge, the location is correct. Unfortunately, there will always be mistakes in a 140-year-old cemetery while working from old records.
I could not do this work without the support and help of the Fairview Memorial Office Staff, Judy Martin, Susan M. and Roland Penttila. Thank you so much for the years of dedicated support and help!
I have opened a blog with the history of the cemetery and some of the people buried in the historic side. In time, I will add more stories as my research continues.

The use of the words "Temporary Marker" means that the marker was donated by the cemetery and was never meant to be permanent. These markers are usually blocks with metal tags and through the years have strayed from their original locations. Please do not assume a temporary marker is in the correct location. Go to the office or contact me especially if you want to place a permanent marker on your loved one's grave.
I will continue to use the words "Temporary Marker". It is what we call them in the office to identify the fact that they may not be in the correct location. This is especially noticeable in the historic area, Section 13 Child where row 9 comes after row 7 and then row 8. At some point between 2008 and 2012, someone decided to be helpful and placed these markers in an upright position. To this day (December 2021) these two rows of temporary markers may be in the wrong place. Unfortunately, we will never know- I just know that the rows are out of order.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need help locating a grave in the historic side or have noticed a mistake in one of my entries. I would like all my entries to be as accurate as possible.
