I grew up always wondering what it was like to live in the past centuries and how our ancestors lived. The hard times they endured. I was interested in family research. Searching everywhere and then stumbling across a tidbit of information. Loved hearing my Grand mother and a Great Aunt talk about how things where when they were young. Their travels and places they lived. I liked finding family in cemetery research since I found you could find a lot out about them in a cemetery. That a lot of times if a person lived in the area for a long period. That a lot of the people in the same cemetery were related. I took a class in school when I was young and was hooked on research of cemeteries, courthouses, archives, churches. Traveling to see where they lived and what they did. And how far they traveled. And what war's they fought in. I use to ask my mother to go with me bone diggin. And the excursions have taken us all over. And we enjoyed time spent together. And it seem to be fitting for what I did to research. The ancestors of the past. Along the way I have helped others as I have researched. Now days you can find almost anything on the internet. And you don't have to travel as much. Definitely cheaper. And emails, and computer look up is definitely faster. But still time allows for photos of family members, and graves. To tie them all together. Newspaper obits give a lot of info. This has always been my passion and a hobby that turned into being a life quest. But have enjoyed it all. And seen a lot of country along the way.
