Bio

Hi! I'm Marigrace.
IMPORTANT Find A Grave UPDATE:
Find A Grave has updated the family relationships that are required transfers. They are as follows:
Child
Spouse/Partner
Sibling
Parent
Grandchild
Great Grandchild
Grandparent
Great Grandparent
Niece/Nephew
Great Niece/Nephew
Aunt/Uncle
Great Aunt/Uncle
First Cousin
These new relationships include step relationships, adopted family members listed above, and in-laws. All of the step/adopted/in-law relationships relating to in-guideline transfers have always been honored, but are now required.
*************
I discovered Find- A - Grave while researching possible relatives on Ancestry and a "leaf" was a memorial on FG. I thought " how cool is this", and have been hooked ever since.
************************************
Thank you for taking time to research and suggest edits! Please, when suggesting edits, do not use abbreviations. Acronyms are fine, especially for military suggestions. I think the data looks more professional without and they make me just a little nutsy! :D
************************************
Family surnames I am researching are: Paternal - Votava and Altman(n); Maternal: Norman and Baltikonis/Balteskonis (however, I think the name was spelled entirely different when my great grandfather came over from Lithuania pre-1900).
Former In-laws: Cassidy and Lodding.
************************************* MILITARY DESIGNATIONS:
While some people adamantly refuse to add it, I will honor their service and rank.
'A veteran who has served honorably in a time of war in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps may bear the title of the highest grade held during that war. This right is conferred by Congress in law by 10 US Code 772 Section (e)'.
[Borrowed from Windchimes (Jon 3:8), FG ID. 49004361, and I wholeheartedly concur.]
**************************************
I have a heart to photograph the markers of Veterans, as I find them, and have dedicated a virtual cemetery to them, named "Our Heroes", further broken down with VC's for Vietnam, Korea, Purple Heart Medals, Bronze Star Medals, Women Veterans, etc.
"A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount up to and including their life." (Author Unknown)
A big Thank You to all our veterans!
***********************************
I'm happy to transfer family memorials, except my own, to you. I believe family should stay together - aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Just ask and let me know why they are important to you. I'd love to hear!
*************************************
Please do not use or share any of my personal family photos. For all others, feel free. A shout out would be nice, if you care to.
*************************************
To all volunteers, thank you for all you do and be safe out there!
