Live in Phoenix, Arizona metro area; retired civil engineer. Have been working on piecing together my family; mother's family were Presbyterian Scots (Covenanters, per family history), came to US via northern Ireland during 1800s (primary family name, Henry, but also from northern England, Loomis, Skinner, Baird). Another line is my father's family, English (Yorkshire, Westmorland/Cumbria, for the most part), transplanted to Canada around 1828-1830; my grandfather and father were born in Canada. Primary family names Ash, Speight, Drake, Parrish, Washington. Got carried away and added in various lines from husband's family. My husband's father's family was French Canadian; have had to dig out my old college translation dictionary to deal with early records; is good to keep the old rusty skills alive!
