Bio

I have been researching "The Cole's of Broadalbin" for 3 years. My focus has been documenting the family connections that I have found in the Union Mills Cemetery in
Broadalbin,Fulton County,New York.

There are three families that are buried in Union Mills that are all connected. They are Cole, Chase, and Stoddard. I was not sure if I had the right family here, until I found these connections.

There is at least 4 generations of this Cole family in Union Mills Cemetery. Samuel is the oldest family member. He served in the War of 1812.

His "possible"?? parents might have been Fones Daniel Cole 1762-1839 & Mary Kingsley Cole 1763-1839. Fones served in the Revolutionary War as a Private in Rhode Island. I have copied records of confirming his military service on his memorial page.

Fones & Mary's children were:
1.Benjamin Cole 1788-1851 his wife was Abigail Fanning Cole 1786-1874. Buried in Leona Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
2.Samuel Daniel Cole 1790-1868 his wife was Maria Booth Cole.
3.Daniel Cole 1800-1874 his wife was Mary Talmadge Cole 1799-1872 buried in Mayfield Rural Cemetery, and youngest son
4.Ishmael Cole Sr. 1803-1848 his was wife was Elizabeth Ann Chase Cole 1806-1867. Elizabeth's Chase family is also buried in Union Mills. I have documented that almost every "Chase" in Union Mills is connected to Elizabeth family. She had two brothers that are buried in Union Mills they are: Daniel Chase 1799-1879, Walter Chase 1805-1878.

Ishmael Sr. & Elizabeth's children were:
1.Walter D. Cole 1825-1903. His wife was Alice Stoddard Cole 1830-1919.Both buried in Lake Crystal, MN.
2.Emmaline Cole Kipp 1827-?

6.Garner M.Cole 1837-1932. Buried in Lake Crystal, MN.
7.Angeline Cole Cooley 1838-1920
8.William Henry Cole 1839-1925. Buried in Lake Crystal,MN.

Ishmael Cole Jr. second wife was Jane Irene Stoddard Cole 1835-1865. Her parents were Robert Layton Stoddard 1807-1890 & Mary Ferguson Stoddard 1828-1904. They are buried in Union Mills in section 5.

Samuel Cole born in RI 1792-1868 & wife Maria Booth Cole 1796-1874. Buried in Section 2-#407 & 2-#408. They have a tall grave stone that I think has has both Samuel & Maria and son Beriah & Lucy Cole.

Their children were:

1. Susan Melissa Cole Campbell 1818-1886 buried 2-#309 with FORBES on grave stone. & 1st husband Elmer Cole 1808 2nd husband John Campbell 1808-1895.
