The Crandon Public Library Local History Room was created in 2013 for the purpose of preserving paper materials in order to ensure that Forest County history is available for future generations. The public is encouraged to visit the Local History Room located on the lower level of the library so they may research past community members, places, and events. The documents that are available include: newspapers, civil court records, school records, Common Council proceedings, justice dockets, assessment rolls, photographs, library records, and many more noteworthy documents. The Local History Clerk is continuing to organize and accession Forest County records and always welcomes donations of historically significant materials.
