I am the President of the Anderson County Historical Society, I also work in the Anderson County Archives. I am a member of the reenactment group Tennesseans for living History, a member of the Anderson CO Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution, and a member of First Families of Tennessee. I live in Oak Ridge Tenn in Anderson County. Find a grave is a great site, cemeteries are a good place to start looking for your ancestors. Some of my lines are Clarke/Clark, Frost, Ivey, Butler, Duckett, Galbraith, Davis, Knox, Matson, Frye, Walls, Floyd, Oliver, Winters, Seiber, seybert, Duncan, Shoopman, Gallaher, Arnold, Rudisill, Raby, Vann, Russell, Smith, Morgan, Key, Geaseland, Patton, Cash, Whitman and many more. I like to study and learn anything I can about German history, I have a lot of German ancestry. I really enjoy doing genealogy. Through my genealogy work I have discovered I am a cousin to President Abraham Lincoln, Rev. Kenneth Ivey, The Actress Dixie Lee Crosby, Henry Timberlake Duncan one of the founders of the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington KY and a close personal friend of Henry Clay, Henry Duncan Jr a two term Mayor of Lexington KY and a founder of the Lexington Daily Press, Dr. Fred A Neergaard, one of the founders of the Harriman General Hospital in Harriman Tenn, the Actor Will Rogers, the singer Johnny Cash, and Elizabeth Cash from the Salem witch trials in Salem MA, Missionarys Marcus and Narcissca Whitman, poet Walt Whitman, William Floyd a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Robert A Smith who was elected as sheriff of Anderson Co Tenn in August 1910 in which office he served for six years he was then elected Tax Assessor of Anderson County, serving for four years, he was also appointed U.S. Deputy Marshall under President Harding, which office he held for 12 years he became sheriff of Anderson County again in August, 1934, and re-elected in August, 1936. Also I found out my mom and dad are 5th cousins twice removed. My 2nd Great Grandfather was Jasper Smith who was a Anderson Co Tenn Historian. My GG Uncle Charles Edward Russell served in germany during WW 2 and fought in the battle of the Bulge in which he received an honorary Bronze Star for stopping a Royal Tiger Tank with a 50 caliber machine gun he earned the rank of Corporal. My 3rd great grandparents Jonas and Sarah Arnold were prominent people in Wheat Tenn, my GG Uncle PVT Glenn Wilson Patton was killed on June 26 1944 as a result of wounds he received during the battle of Saipan in the south pacific, my GG Uncle John Patton was a mortician owning a funeral home in Nashville Tenn, I have Quaker ancestry, a lot of German ancestry, Puritan ancestry, German Lutheran ancestry, alot of Irish Ancestry, and many other roots. My 7th Great Grandmother Hannah Matson Davis was a Quaker Woman, my 7th Great Grandfather Charles Davis was a Quaker Minister. My 4th Great Uncle was Dr. Gideon Morgan, My 11th great Grandmother Mary Floyd was a Lady in waitng to Queen Elizabeth the first. My 8th Great Grandfather was Captain Jacob Seybert who was killed at the Fort Seybert Massacre in 1758. My 9th Great Grandfather was Rev William Duncan a Martyr during the reign of King Charles of England. My 7th Great Uncle Daniel Duncan was a prominent Merchant in Paris KY. My 10th Great Grandfather Nathaniel Floyd Came to the colony of Jamestown VA in 1623. My 4th Great Grandfather Michael Arnold was a Soldier in the Confederate States Army. My 6th Great Grandfather Thomas Frost came to Tenn from VA in 1795 becoming the first recorded white settler in Anderson CO Tenn purchasing 640 acres in Raccoon Valley. My 5th Great Grandfather was the Revolutionary War hero from the Battle of Kings Mountain Micajah Frost. My 4TH Great Grandfather was Dr. John Purris Patton, who was a early Doctor in Roane CO Tenn. My Frost Ancestors were some of the earliest settlers in Anderson CO Tenn. I enjoy doing genealogy and I really enjoy visiting old cemeteries, and studying about different periods of history.
