I'm currently working on my family tree. I've traced the Spears side of my family back to 1658 in Virginia. The majority of the Spears have spread out all over the country today. I've traced where my 2nd great grandfather's siblings have moved since the late 1800s and early 1900s. They are in Akron Iowa, Central Florida and East Texas. I haven't found any living relatives in these locations yet but their families are buried there. Some no longer have the Spears name due to marriages. My great grandfather dropped the s from the end of our last name but it was originally spelled with the s. My branch of the family moved from Virginia to Jasper County, GA. From Jasper County my 3rd great grandfather moved to Harris County, Ga. My 2nd great grandfather then moved to Chambers County, AL where my branch of the family came from. My mothers side, the Whites, came from Muscogee County, Ga before settling in Chambers County, Al in Riverview. It is assumed that my 3rd great grandfather White came to Georgia or North Carolina from Ireland but the official record of that has not been located yet.
