Through Find-a-Grave, I am honoring my ancestors and family friends so they will not be forgotten.

Many of my ancestors already have memorials on Find-a-Grave, so I focus on adding and/or correcting information about my direct and extended family - anyone who is on my family tree either through lineage or marriage. I try to post photos, if I have them, and obituaries. I'm a big fan of published obituaries, especially those with details about the person's life; although I know that dates and spellings on obituaries may be incorrect. I do not add speculative information, and am happy to provide documentation for requested edits.

I also add obituaries and photos to memorials for people who I knew or were friends of my parents and grandparents. Starting in late summer 2019, I'm researching and adding obituaries/photos for pioneers, former Mayors, and other community leaders in central Illinois, plus their spouses. Let's not forget their dedication and, and in many cases, decades of community work.
