My interest in visiting cemeteries began when I was about 10 and visited the Hildebrand Cemetery in Madrid Virginia with my grandparents. It was amazing to learn that so many of my ancestors were there in one place, almost everyone buried in the cemetery. Since then I have walked many cemeteries.

It is wonderful that Find-A-Grave provides an opportunity to make these memorials available, especially to those who may not have the opportunity to visit the cemeteries in person, as well as photograph the headstones before the older ones become impossible to read.
