Hello!

From time to time, as my husband and I visit cemeteries to research and find our own ancestors, we will look at a cemetery's "photo request" list. If we can find the headstones for someone who has been listed, we try to take photos and post them. However, that does not necessarily mean we "manage" that memorial or that we can change any information for that memorial - all I do is upload a photo.

To find out who manages the memorial of one of your loved ones or ancestors, find their MEMORIAL ID in the Find-a-Grave header for that person, and click on the "View Source" link beside that ID. That will reveal who "manages" that particular memorial on a volunteer basis and that person's CONTRIBUTOR ID. If you click on the person's CONTRIBUTOR ID, you're taken to a page where you can message that individual.

On occasion, I find and photograph a headstone for someone who has not yet been listed at a particular cemetery. If so, when I post the photo for that person, it automatically makes me the volunteer who "manages" that memorial. However, in most cases, I'm not related to that person in any way and I'd be happy to allow a relative or family member of that person to "take over" the management of that memorial.
