Bio

I grew up in Sedona, Arizona back before it was "discovered". I still consider Sedona to be my home town even though I no longer live there.

In 1965 I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I was a Recon Marine, serving with 1st Recon Bn in Vietnam and with 2nd Recon Bn at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I received my Honorable Discharge from the Corps in 1971.

My primary focus in Find A Grave is to create new memorials, or add to existing memorials, for the Marines and Navy Corpsmen of 1st Recon Bn who fought the Battle of Hill 488 - those who died on the hill and those who have since passed on - plus the 5 Marines from Charlie 1/5, VMO-2 and VMO-6 who died coming to the rescue of their Recon brothers. Semper Fi.

My secondary focus is to create new memorials, or add to existing memorials, for Marines of Recruit Platoon 145 - The Arizona Platoon - MCRD San Diego - 1965.

And finally I wish to locate and obtain photos of the graves of relatives in my personal family tree and those in my wife's family tree, and to create new memorials when appropriate.
