I began researching my family around May of 2013. I knew a lot about my maternal grandfather's family, as he had always shared his knowledge with me, and had taken me to cemeteries as I was growing up. I've always known the names going back along my Branch line to the person who originally came from New England to Ohio in the early 1800's. And knew many of the other surnames on my grandfather's father's side... other families that had also settled in Cuyahoga County around the same time.

Most of the families on my grandfather's mother's side were Geauga County settlers.

My maternal grandmother's father's parents were German immigrants, and her mother's parents were from Ireland.

My father's mother is from Alabama, and his father is from West Virginia.

I know people who are skittish about visiting cemeteries, and think of it as something creepy. But I enjoy it. For several reasons.

Currently, I try to contribute to the F.A.G. community by taking photos of neighboring graves whenever I am searching for a relative, distant or close. There are specific cemeteries in which I'd like to take part in getting all internments listed on F.A.G. I'm somewhat new to the whole thing, and not looking to build my numbers up into the hundreds of thousands, but I'd like to put my fare share of work in... and hopefully, find all of my relatives in the process.

Branch, Coyle and Uhlenbecker are the primary surnames that I am currently focused on. Seth Branch being the New England to Ohio migrant, and Coyle and Uhlenbecker being on my grandmother's side. But I am also a descendant of Brainards, Ackleys, Rowleys, Cornwells, Slaghts, Hurds, Bradleys, Parsons, and Smiths... to name a few...
