I was born and raised in Oregon City, Oregon, and lived in the area over 50 years. Since it's the end of the Oregon Trail, the area is so rich with history. My ancestors were true pioneers as they came by covered wagon starting in the early 1840's. John Morrow Richardson, my maternal great-grandfather, was born May 30, 1849, in Lane County, Oregon, and his parents were married en route on June 10, 1848 along the Platte River. They settled in the Junction City, OR, area. With the birth of my grandchildren I moved to Kansas to be closer to them and be a hands-on grandma. I also love researching my family genealogy and tromping through graveyards. It's like being a detective and you never know what you'll find.
