I live in South Florida with my three children. I have family in Cuba, Spain, and Argentina. Most of my husband's family emigrated from Germany and Prussia in the mid to late 1800's and settled in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. My husband was born in Milwaukee but moved to Florida as a young boy. He always talked about wanting to go back on a family vacation to see relatives and introduce his family. However in 2007, when our children were still quite young, my husband suffered a massive, spontaneous brain bleed. He was left completely disabled and required total care for almost 8 years. John passed in August of 2014. We didn't get to make the trip to Milwaukee but I'm still working on meeting those relatives. I started digging into his family history a few years ago and fell in love with genealogy. I know this is something he always wanted and I work on it in his honor. I have "met" many interesting people along the way.I would also love to get more info on my ancestry but I haven't found much to go on. Looking for a source for Cuban records. I understand that many of the birth records were kept in the Catholic churches and were destroyed. Any help appreciated! Please feel free to use any of my photos for your family trees as needed.
