My parents were Miles William Kelly and Dorothy Ruth Hopper Kelly. Their parents, in turn, were Frank Delano Kelly and Annie Benedict Cassada Kelly and Thomas Harrison Hopper and Jennie Blanche Campbell Hopper. Born in Elmira, New York, I moved, with my family, to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1954 when I was six years old. Then, in January, 1963, we moved to Des Moines, Iowa. My current residence is Boone, Iowa where I retired in 2012 after nearly thirty years of teaching at Des Moines Area Community College. My military service included a tour in Viet Nam. I have one child, a son, Michael Donald Kelly.
