I began researching my family genealogy in 2010. My father had begun the research in the mid-90's. I found it very interesting; it sparked a desire to do some research of my own. I picked up where he left off in part because it was something I could share with my aging parents. During my research I found Find A Grave. I have found a lot of useful information here and think it is a great tool for genealogists. I especially like the fact that there are so many volunteers willing to help others in their search for information on their ancestors. Most of my direct ancestors came to the United States from England and Wales and settled in Maine, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. I have visited many cemeteries, both in the United States and Great Britain, searching for their burial sites. My husband always jokes that our vacations always include a stop at an old cemetery or two! I find this research fascinating and enjoy this new-found hobby a great deal. My father was an avid and talented photographer so I chose one of my favorites he had taken of me in 1958 as my profile photo.
