Bio

E. E. (Skip) Campbell retired from UPS in early 2012 after 38 years as a senior manager, working in numerous locations in the United States and abroad. While Skip's primary responsibilities were in the areas of operations and industrial engineering, he also has significant experience in quality, marketing, safety, and human resources.

He is also an avid historian and is active in efforts to preserve historical documents and cemeteries. Skip belongs to a number of local and national historical and archaeological the Jefferson County Historical Association, Alabama Historical Association, Oak Hill Memorial Association, and Alabama Cemetery Preservation Alliance.

Skip holds a master's degree in History from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a second doctorate in Southern History and Historical Archaeology from the University of Alabama.

Skip currently is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama where he serves on the faculties of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and the New College LifeTrack program.

His research interests center on the early histories of Alabama, Jefferson County and the city of Birmingham.

Skip sits on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Historical Association and is a former Chair of the Board of Visitors for the College of Continuing Studies at the University of Alabama and the past Chair for the Alabama Bicentennial Celebration for Etowah County, AL.

Skip holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Development with concentrations in Organizational Theory and Macroergonomics.

He received his BS degree in Applied Science and Operations Analysis from the University of Alabama and holds Masters Degrees in Engineering Management, Quality, and Management, as well as Graduate Certificates in Information Systems and Marketing.

Skip also received post-graduate training in Strategic Planning and Strategy Formulation from Georgia State University : Center for Executive Education.

Skip and his wife, Denise, have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
