Please try to verify any information that you want me to add, as I am an absolute stickler for accuracy in my genealogy. I am not like the many people who add things to memorials and trees and do not even check to make sure that it's accurate. Also, please do not add memorials to cemeteries that you are not familiar with. If you have proof that the person is indeed buried there (i.e., old transcriptions, obituaries, etc.) that is acceptable and encouraged. This helps those of us who make it a point to fulfill photo requests and it also is in line with FindAGrave's various policies.
Getting the highest amount of memorials is not why I started doing this; being able to provide family members (especially ones that live far away) with the ability to know and see where their ancestors and loved ones are buried is my main goal. I will be happy to transfer any memorials provided that you can prove that you are directly descended from, or that you have a lot of information and photos to add. I will not delete a memorial just so you can create your own, but I will transfer the memorial in question to you given the provisions above. I reserve the right to keep the memorials that are in my own line, so I hope you'll understand.
PLEASE do not use chalk, shaving cream, bleach, or anything else to better read the tombstone. Even chalk has chemicals that ruin the delicate tombstones (especially the older ones). Instead, please use the native soil in the cemetery. I can say from experience that this method produces fine results. This method was given to me by a professional.
I have no problem with others using the photos that I have taken for use in their family trees. However, it is common courtesy to acknowledge the photographer for their time and effort. I only ask that if you do use the photos that I've taken, you please mention that you found them on FindAGrave and you use this to acknowledge me: 2020 by Lindsey Bowden on Find A Grave. Used with permission. Please feel free to contact me in a professional manner with any questions, discussions or requests!
