I have been doing genealogy on the various branches ofmy family since 2000. I'm currently working on my paternal Cursted/Curstead/Custead, Custard line. The spelling Cursted and Curstead originated in Norfolk, England. The spelling of my paternal family name I found in Norfolk, England records are Kyrsted(oldest), Kirsted, Kirstead, Cursted, Curstead, Curstick, Custick and Custead. The name original meant place of cherry trees. It is Anglo-Saxon or Danish. Some branches dropped the r in Curstead a few others changed the surname to Custard. I hope to one day write a genealogy book on my paternal line. I'm of English, Irish, Scot-Irish, French, Scottish, Dutch, German(Prussian & Hessian), Norwegian and Morisco(Secret Muslim) Descent.
