I started working on family history to help my father, a local historian, who had no computer. Many years later, I have an entire room full of records, notebooks and memorabilia -- and I'm still in love with my ancestors and enjoy meeting distant kin! My father was from Huntington, WV/Gallia County, Ohio, and my mother, from Columbia County, Washington. My father's lines include: WILSON, LAYNE, HALLEY/Holley, HENSON, FLORA, MOONEY, LEWIS, CLARK, WAUGH and many more. His family remained in one place for generations. My mother's family made their way across the northern tier of the country, moving in increments from NC to Illinois to Wisconsin to Nebraska, stopping briefly in California, and finally settling in Washington state. Her family lines include SCOGGIN, BRUNTON, REED/Reith, LAUFFLER, ANSPATCH, HARRIS, HOUSE, GRAY, MADRE/MADRAY and others.
