I was doing a little genealogy on my own family, without much luck. One day I was sort of listening to a TV show on California agriculture when the host mentioned my mother's maiden name, Kautz, in relation to a reunion held at a winery in northern CA. A couple of emails later I was in touch with a distant cousin who has done extensive work on the Kautz family. That lit the fire that has kept me going in researching both the Kautz/Tenzler and Watson/Hundley sides of my family. Now that I'm retired I have more time, which also led me to taking photos for Find-a-Grave members. A recent reunion with cousins not seen in ~35 years helped us all to put some pieces together and left us wanting to find more. My work is strictly personal and I am still a novice at genealogy work.
