I've been researching family history for over 25 years, traveling far and wide to visit historical societies, museums, old homesteads and grave sites. I believe the people gone before us deserve to be remembered as part of the history of our planet.
Researching my family from Scotland, England, Canada, Jamaica, Germany, Florida, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Names - Sim, Clarke, Keeler, Baker, Klett, Braun, Roberts, Ellmaker and Gibson, just to mention the main ones.
The assumption is that the "dead" have no right to privacy, but I consider it the better part to respect those who have passed, and so take care in what information I post.
I'm happy to transfer memorials if the person is not related to me. There's no sense in me hanging on to memorials I've added where I don't know the individuals. The important thing is that the person in the memorial is remembered, not that I alone manage it.
