I became interested in genealogy many years ago when trying to keep track of all of my husband's aunts and uncles, cousins, first-cousin marriages, etc. It seemed impossible to remember their relationship until I finally made a "tree" with everyone on it. At that point, I was hooked. I was an adopted child so I started tackling the biological side of my tree with only a smidgen of information. Many visits to libraries poring through microfiche, traipsing through cemeteries, and more hours of microfiche at the county court house and I had a basic idea of what had happened. Opening court documents about my adoption was expensive but very helpful. I contacted potential relatives who had their family trees on the internet and hit the jackpot with several of them; I owe a huge debt of thanks to them. Now I have branched out to tracing down the trees of my sons' wives. It seems never-ending but it is a great hobby!
