Bio
I was born on the Naval Air Station at Coronado, California. My dad was a career Army officer and my family moved around a lot. I didn't have enough sense to stay away from the Army as I attended Auburn University under an Army ROTC scholarship. After graduation, I earned a Ph.D. Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I served in the Army as an officer for 26 years and spent some time in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I retired from the military and worked for the Army as a civilian for another 11 years.
I have been married to the same woman for over 45 years and have two adult children.
I have served the community as a Red Cross volunteer, baseball coach, member of the school board, and as a Boy Scout leader for over 15 years. I have also served the church as a deacon and an elder.
