Bio

Hi,

My name is Daniel Joseph Maroney III, I was born in Providence, RI in 1948 and lived my first 2 years at 318 Blackstone Street.

My parents, Daniel Joseph and Carolyn Mary (Donnelly) Maroney, moved their young family to Warwick, Rhode Island in 1950. At that time the city of Warwick was considered a rural area. It was a great place for many boyhood adventures and I enjoyed every moment discovering my new world.

I attended Lippitt Elementary School, Gorton Junior Hight and Warwick Veterans Memorial High School (1964-1968). In January 1970 I traveled to Provo, Utah with Charles Nye, a friend of many years, and attended Brigham Young University. I received a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education. I taught high school physical education and coached swimming for 35 years.

I currently live in Salt Lake City which is a short distance from my daughter's home. I have found being a father and grandfather, of four wonderful-delightful children, to be one of the greatest joys of my life. I have been blessed to have such amazing spirits come into my life.

I've been an avid amateur genealogist for many years (1980-2010) and I have enjoyed spending my retirement working on my family history. I spend most of my free time at the Mormon Church's Family History Library in Salt Lake City.

My main goal is to compile my research into a book form and then share my genealogy with other family members.
