Bio
On a whim, I started working on my genealogy in 1993 and have since successfully outlined the basic details of my immigrant beginnings.
My DNA says my lineage hails mostly from the United Kingdom. Although, I am a descendant from Huguenots arriving in New Rochelle, New York in the late 1600's, I show no French DNA. My research tends to concentrate in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
This has been an amazing adventure, both learning about my family and history. Genealogy allows me a perspective that takes me beyond the grim occurrence of an ugly relative or two or five or six... and, I do have quite a few. Instead, I try to appreciate these men and women who fought wars, disease, discrimination and even each other to survive and afford me the legacy of life. Finding and managing their grave sites and telling their stories is my way of honoring my heritage and their memory.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if something is amiss, to share information or to simply say hello.
