I currently reside in north-central Alabama just a few miles south of the Tennessee state line. I served on active duty in the US Army for 22 years. Eleven of those 22 years were served overseas. Six years in the Far East (including Vietnam) and Five in Germany. After retiring from the military I traded my uniform for civilian wear and worked as a Department of the Army civilian for 22 1/2 years. I'm now retired.
Got my start in researching family lineage when I inherited the files my mother had compiled. Stumbled across Find A Grave while researching my and my wife's family.
Family names of interest to me are: Ridzelski, Harrelson, Bradley, Mitchell, Daffin, Dauphine, Sport, Sports, Paul, Caulder, Hyatt and Roberts.
I feel that photographs posted on Find A Grave should do more than simply show a marker. The inscription on a stone can be very valuable to someone researching a family line.
I utilize a number of tricks,to include photo editing, to make the lettering on a marker stand out. Simply changing angles or forcing the flash can make a big difference in legibility. I DO NOT and WILL NOT apply anything to a marker to enhance legibility.
