My name is Jill Letitia Matthews and I live in Huntsville, Alabama. My Father was Gerald Holmes Matthews. His Father was: John Goodrich Matthews and his Mother was: Audrey Seagraves Matthews. My Grandfather & Grandmother moved to New York City. I am not sure exactly when they moved there. My Grandfather worked for the New York Times and that is where my Father grew up. My Grandfather came back to Columbia when he retired and built a cabin in the Sowell Hollow Rd area where he died 3 days after completing his retirement home. My Grandmother went back to NYC for several more years until her neighborhood was getting bad so my Father & Mother went up to NYC and brought Grandma back to Columbia where she lived until she died in 1980. I was 3 when my Grandfather died but I was blessed to have several years with my Grandmother and she was the ONLY grandparent from both my Mother and my Fathers famillies. I am looking forward to updating my family's data as soon as I can get everything together!!
