I'm a retired grandfather in Upstate New York who's done a couple of simple family histories. Discovering linkages and sharing them with others is very rewarding for me.
No, I didn't have a favorite in the Civil War because my family fought bravely on both sides!
Most of us who contribute info to findagrave are by no means professional genealogists - as for me, I have no training whatsoever in genealogy! (I was an optical engineer for 39 years.) So a question naturally arises, "How much can the memorials and entries be trusted?" Here's my policy - I will include information that I believe has a "high probability" of being true. Further, if I believe there is any question, I will state such somewhere in the memorial. I will not publish based on hunches, hearsay, wishful thinking or rote copying from family trees. I try to include the sources of evidence and/or information along with the entry.
