Bio
Hello from Ferris Stephen Waller Sr.
I was born in the year 1938 in an upstairs apartment above a bakery on Haines Street in down town Plant City, Fl. My father and mother were Marcus W. Waller Jr. & Oneita M. Wright Waller.
Some of our kin came to Florida in the late 1800's. My grandparents were from, on my dads side, Ashford, & Cottonwood in Houston County, Alabama, & on my mothers side, Tabor City, Pireway, Hallsboro, in Columbus County, North Carolina. My grandfather Marcus W. Waller Sr. was a farmer, when he was not fishing. My grandfather Ferris S. Wright had a furniture & hardware store in Plant City. As I grew up most of my time was spent working in the store. (Wright's Furniture & Hardware). My family bought the store from my grandmother Lutie V. Wright, in 1955 ?. The name was changed to Waller's Hardware. The store is still being operated by our family as Waller's Power Equipment.
Now why am I here? I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't golf, I don't fish, what else is there to do?
My plan is to take as many photos as time permits. I still run a couple of business, and mow over 30 acres of grass every week, so my time is somewhat limited. As of lately (2017) my knees & hips don't allow me to walk as much as I would like.
Most of the photos that I will take, will be of people that I knew, classmates, customers from my many years in business, (hardware store, TV repair, flea market). I will enter information about the person to the best of my memory. Please contact me if you find any of my information that is not correct.
Forgive my writing, high school only, and English was my weak subject. (I failed 11th grade English)
The teacher that failed me was Ethel Keller. This is her FAG website. Click on her photo for the story. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=30730510
I married Peggy Pless the grand-daughter of Albert Pless. The Pless family is an old pioneer family of Hillsborough County. The Pless Family Cemetery is located just off of Pless Road.
Below is a link to the cemetery.

The names of some of my kin are Waller, Wright, Gore, Mabry, I am sure there are others that I don't know of. My parents and all of the older folks in our family have pasted on, I am now the old guy of the family.
I have created only a few hundred memorials, most of these are family or friends and acquaintance. Almost all contain photos that I took. There are only a few memorials that are unknown to me. These are the ones that I got while taking volunteer photos request. I will transfer, to family members, any of the unknowns that I have created,
I sponsor only people that I knew or their family members. I have sponsored more than 600 memorials, and this is my way of contributing money to Find A Grave. I hope that my small contribution will help FAG to always remain free to everyone. I once sponsored a large family of more than 20 people. They were all friends of my grandmother my parents and myself. For some unknown reason the entire family and a few others disappeared from Find A Grave. For this reason I am reluctant to transfer memorials that I have sponsored.
Life should be all about sharing and trying to make the world a better place. You are more than welcome to use any of my photo.
