The few memorials managed by me were photographed and recorded in a few family cemeteries. I did take some photos of non-family members, thinking it might be helpful for people using the Internet to try to locate information on their families.
Since I started sharing this information, more and more people are turning this site into a genealogy website and including far more information than is on tombstones.
I like that -- until I see a mistake.
I have received several requests for "corrections" which are not corrections at all but additions.
This makes me very uneasy because I have no way of knowing whether the changes requested are accurate or not.
So, in an effort not to unknowingly add mistakes, I HAVE ARRIVED AT A PERSONAL POLICY:
1. If I have misread or mistyped information that is visible on a monument, I will be delighted to make the correction. Please let me know. I really want what is posted to be correct.
2. However, I will not post additional information nor link memorials together. If I do not know the people, I have no way of knowing if the information is right, what the sources were(some might even be gleaned from copyrighted material) or even if the original is correct, did the person making the copy copy it correctly, then type it correctly in an email to me? How can I possibly know?
3. HOWEVER,I will post a website where the information can be made available for people who wish to view the information and decide for themselves if it really is great-granddad and great-grandma or a similarly named cousin.
So, please, if you want additional information added to one of my items, just give me a reference site.
