Bio

I am a member of Holden Lutheran Church and have a strong interest in genealogy and local history. When the time comes, my husband and I plan on being buried at the Holden Lutheran Cemetery. We currently live on a farm near Malmo, Aitkin County, MN and enjoy the calm rural setting. The community is filled with interesting history and it has been a joy to research the lives of the early pioneers.

I have used a number of resources to document the graves at Holden including the Holden Lutheran Church cemetery records, Aitkin County Historical Society files, the Minnesota Historical Society's online death index, the Seavey Township History by Bailey, Memories of Eastside Township by Bailey and Crossman and The Bridge (Holden Church newsletter) "A Bit O'History" articles written by Bailey.

I have 324 graves currently documented in the Holden Cemetery and will be working on entering all these graves into the Find a Grave data base. I will also be adding pictures of the grave markers and most of the documented graves have markers. This project will take some time to complete.

There are unmarked graves at Holden that predate the cemetery records.

If I can be of any assistance in your search for family information, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] and I will try to assist you. Please note "Holden Cemetery" on the e-mail subject line so I can identify your message from the SPAM.
