I have been interested in family history since I was a young girl and heard fascinating family stories at my family reunions, some of which were not meant for young ears.

In the mid-1990s, I began a serious search for my ancestors. Luckily, several generations stayed in the same area of southwestern Virginia and northwestern North Carolina.

I am a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and Daughters of the Confederacy, and I still retain my membership in the Jamestowne Society.

I have walked countless cemeteries, lugged heavy volumes of county court records to reading tables, visited state archives all over the southeast US (and actually held my Father's original draft card in my hand in Georgia!), turned many pages of dusty books, and spent thousands of hours online in search of my family.

As I result, I have many new cousins and lots of new friends who have been generous in sharing and collaborating research to break down those brick walls.

Thank you for viewing my memorials. If you have any questions or comments, please use the Find-A-Grave email system.
