Bio
In the NC/SC area, I research my paternal family names of McCorkle, McManus, Taylor & Plyler and my maternal family names (mostly NC) of Miller, Gordon, Williams & Snead/Sneed. Other direct lines further back in my ancestry of interest to me are Woods, Therrell, Paxton, Osborne, Lawson, Smothers, Helms, Laney, McConnell & Barry.
I live in the western part of Union County, N.C. and have a strong interest in the history of my church, Bonds Grove Methodist and the families buried there. Bonds Grove Methodist merged with Weddington Methodist in 2013 and is now known as the Bonds Grove Campus of Weddington Methodist Church. I also have interest in the cemetery at Weddington Methodist Church, my mother's home church, where several sets of my direct line are buried. Also, have direct lines at Zion UMC, Lancaster, SC; Belair UMC, Lancaster County, SC and Providence Presbyterian Church, Mecklenburg Co., NC. I would also appreciate any further information on Rowell Cemetery in Lancaster Co, SC that is in addition to what is already on F-A-G. I believe I have direct lines buried there as well but not confirmed.
I also have created memorials and photos of some non-related in the area. If you discover your direct line ancestors are on my list, please request a transfer and I will be happy to do so. If you have a correction, please go thru "edit" to make a correction request.
Please do not post death certificates on my memorials! Find-a-grave is a memorial website and not placed for genealogy research.
Blessings,
Sandra
Note @ 2/25/13 - Recently I have been scanning ancestry.com and finding many of my photos out there that I have placed in find-a-grave. I knew when I placed these on F-A-G that people would copy and use them but my desire was to share these treasures. I would prefer a request to use them but if not, please give me the recognition on the page where using the photo as most of these are my relatives and ancestors and I have worked very hard and put forth a lot of effort in obtaining them. I would sincerely appreciate it.
Also, recently (Aug 2019) another contributor sent me a message thru my profile page about one of my memorials, Mattie Bleeker Plyler McManus. I would love to answer it but they have deleted their reply so I couldn't answer. Then I went to the contributor's file page and they are accepting no messages......Really? This is all I could do.
