Bio

JOHN C. BRUNGER, JR.; PhD

I'm a 1966 graduate of Corunna High School in Corunna, Michigan. I was a member of the FFA and I'm eternally grateful to a great teacher named John A. Deppong. I served in the United States Army from August 23, 1967, to June 10, 1970, and in the Republic of Vietnam from May of 1968 to May of 1969.

Served with 1st Aviation in the Republic of Vietnam.

My primary field of study is U.S. government, world geography, and history. I was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southern in 1974 with a major in political science. I hold a master's degree in education with a focus on integrating technology in the classroom. After my university studies, I was awarded an internship under Governor Jimmy Carter's intern program doing research on Nuclear Power Safety. I worked in the government for about 3 years.

I owned a battery business for a number of years and was self-employed.

I am disabled and after 19 years of service with a school district in Texas, I was required to retire because of health issues. My passion was teaching high school social studies.
